Two juveniles were taken into custody after a rash of car break ins in McCracken County overnight on Tuesday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle at Lakeview Drive in Lone Oak  at 3:30 Tuesday morning.

The vehicle reportedly attempted to elude the deputy, but almost immediately crashed on Milton Drive. Three suspects then fled on foot.

A deputy noticed the crashed vehicle had the steering column punched out and the ignition was missing. Two additional vehicles were seen with their lights on in an empty lot off of Lakeview Drive, also with their steering columns punched and ignitions removed.

The vehicles also had broken windows and damage to the exterior.

Police said two of the vehicles had been stolen from dealerships on Irvin Cobb Drive on Paducah’s Southside, and the third from a residence on Denver Avenue in Lone Oak.

At 5 am, K-9 Oscar tracked one of the suspects to a wooded area off of Milton Drive where he was detained.

At 5:45 am, deputies received a report of another stolen vehicle from a residence on Milton Drive, in the immediate vicinity where the three suspects fled from the accident.

The victim had video surveillance and detectives recognized the suspect as a male juvenile from the Farley area. Deputies responded to Farley and located the stolen vehicle abandoned in a grassy drive off Husbands Road.

Two of the three juveniles are in custody on a multitude of charges, while authorities are still looking for the third suspect.
