As is tradition among utility companies, emergency crews have arrived from outside the area to help get power restored. On Monday, more than 150 utility trucks could be seen deployed and awaiting assignment at Mountain Dew Park in Marion, Illinois.
A statement from Ameren Illinois said that more than 800 total linemen, tree trimmers, damage assessors and safety personnel are on the job.
