TVA announces energy grants for several area schools

Four area schools are among a number in the Tennessee Valley Authority's service area to receive a portion of three million dollars to make schools safer and more energy efficient.

North Calloway Elementary School received $210,000. Benton Elementary School received $25,000 while Fulton County Elementary Middle School and Graves County High School are each receiving $10,000.

The grants are awarded as part of TVA's School Uplift program – which has saved participating schools an average of 10% on their energy bills annually through behavioral changes alone.
