Trailer in Road Leads to Man's Arrest for Theft

A Massac County man was arrested for the theft of a trailer.

According to Metropolis Police, a theft report was filed on Sunday night, May 6 at a home on Johnson Street. The next day, a Massac County Sheriff's Deputy was called to Unity School Road because a trailer was in the road. Interviews with witnesses led to 25-year-old Kyle Cunningham of Brookport as a suspect. 

When questioned at the police department, Cunningham reportedly admitted he took the trailer, but the hitch on his truck broke as he was driving down the road. He said he left the trailer and came back with another truck to get the trailer.

Cunningham was arrested for theft and taken to Massac County Detention Center.
