Starting Wednesday morning, traffic on the I-24 bridge between Paducah and Metropolis will be one-lane for awhile.

The Illinois Department of Transportation will restrict traffic starting about 7:00 am, and the work zone will include some brief traffic stoppages between 1:00 and 3:00 am Thursday morning. IDOT will be placing a crane in the median on the Illinois end of the bridge.

Starting about 1:00 am Thursday, Illinois State Police will use rolling road blocks with traffic stoppages of about 10 to 15 minutes each to allow an overhead sign to be moved. Illinois State Police will slow westbound traffic starting near the Cairo Road's exit 3 in Kentucky and will slow eastbound traffic starting near Metropolis Exit 37 in Illinois.

Drivers should use appropriate caution where road workers are in close proximity to traffic flow.
