A Paducah man is in jail after allegedly leading police on a multi-state high speed chase.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says 21-year-old, Jordan S. Heisner of Paducah led deputies in Massac County, IL and McCracken County on a vehicle pursuit that at one point was in excess of 100 mph.

Police say Massac County deputies attempted to stop Heisner for a speeding violation shortly before 3:00 am Thursday, at which time Heisner allegedly sped up and attempted to elude deputies. After deputies pursued Heisner through Metropolis, police say the suspect traveled south on US 45 through Massac County and on Interstate 24 toward McCracken County.

McCracken County deputies intercepted the pursuit as it crossed over Cairo Road. Deputies successfully deployed spike strips causing the passengers side front and rear tires to deflate.  Heisner allegedly continued eastbound until reaching US 60 where he exited I-24 and almost collided with a semi-tractor trailer.

Deputies say Heisner turned into a shopping center parking lot located on James Sanders Blvd., then back toward US 60, when he collided with a marked McCracken County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle. Deputies say the pursuit continued eastbound on US 60 toward Paducah, but ended shortly after Heisner was forced off the roadway as he turned onto an access road in front of Burger King along Hinkleville Road.

Heisner was taken into custody and booked into the McCracken County Jail.  No injuries were reported.
