Police on both sides of the Ohio River are reporting more reported thefts from vehicles.

The Massac County Sheriff's Department and Paducah Police Department posted on social media this week that thefts have happened over the last few weeks.

In Paducah, police say thefts have occurred on the west side of town, and may be connected to similar crimes in the county. The Sheriff's Department has investigated recent thefts in Lone Oak and Reidland, and have charged two people so far, while recovering numerous stolen items (see link).

Paducah Police say recent victims will have to file a report to claim any items that may have been recovered.

They also remind everyone to remove valuables, lock them in the trunk or conceal them, and to lock their vehicles. Most of the reported thefts were reportedly from unlocked vehicles.

To reach Paducah Police, call 270-444-8550. McCracken County Sheriff's Department can be reached at 270-444-4719, and Massac County Sheriff's Department can be reached at 618-524-2912.
