Metropolis Woman Arrested After SUV Crash
By West Kentucky Star Staff
METROPOLIS - A Metropolis woman was arrested last week on multiple charges after a traffic accident.

In their weekly arrest report, Metropolis Police said an officer was at a stop sign at 10th and Ferry Streets on August 5 when an SUV reportedly drove through the intersection without stopping. Police say the vehicle crossed three lanes of traffic and hit a power pole, snapping it in half.

The driver reportedly backed up and tried to leave the scene, but struck two other vehicles in the process.

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to 58-year-old Robin D. Bomar. She reportedly had slurred speech and poor balance and smelled of alcohol. Bomar was arrested for DUI, disobeying a stop sign, driving in wrong lane, driving an uninsured vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Bomar was taken to Massac County Detention Center, where she posted bond and was released.
