Metropolis Teen Charged in Domestic Assault Case

A Metropolis man was arrested Friday on domestic violence related charges.

According to the Metropolis Police Department, officers were called Friday to a report of a domestic disturbance at an apartment in the Lois Lane Complex. Officers said the 60-year-old victim told them she was struck twice in the face by 19-year-old Christian A Tolbert, of Metropolis.

Police said they later found Tolbert at a nearby apartment, and that he appeared to be very intoxicated.

Tolbert was arrested and charged with domestic battery and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
