A Massac County man was taken to a local hospital after he was struck by a vehicle Monday morning.
Illinois State Police were called to Mount Mission Road about 1/2-mile from Country Club Road about 6:50 am. Police say a 39-year-old Metropolis man was standing at his mailbox when he was hit by an SUV driven by a 28-year-old Dongola man.
The pedestrian was taken to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of his injuries, which police say did not appear to be life-threatening.
