Man Arrested on FL Kidnapping Charge in Metropolis

A man wanted for kidnapping in Florida was arrested last Tuesday in Metropolis.

Metropolis officers were called to a domestic disturbance near 3rd and Metropolis Street. The victim told police that she was struck by her boyfriend, Justin Morgan, and said his real name was Craig Morgan. After searching the area, officers located the suspect on Front Street. Morgan initially gave his name as Justin. 

A computer check revealed that Justin was wanted on a McCracken County warrant. Morgan was arrested for domestic battery and for the warrant. He was taken to the Massac County Detention Center for further investigation. 

While at the detention center, Morgan finally admitted that his real name was Craig Edward Morgan. Police learned he was wanted on a warrant from Florida for kidnapping and unlawful restraint type charges. Morgan was also charged with domestic violence and obstructing justice.
