Man Arrested on Domestic Assault, Other Charges

A Metropolis man was arrested Friday on domestic violence charges.

Metropolis Police say they were called to the domestic violence shelter and spoke to the victim, who had numerous injuries and said she was held against her will at a home in Metropolis. The investigation led to the arrest of 38-year-old Frank P. Burrus, who was reportedly in possession of a stolen handgun.

He was charged with unlawful restraint, aggravated domestic battery, violation of a protective order, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm. 

Burrus was taken to Massac County Detention Center.
