A Massac County man was arrested Saturday night on multiple charges.

The Metropolis Police Department responded to Dollar General Store on East 8th Street after they were told a man was being disorderly and would not leave. When police arrived, the man reportedly spotted officers and ran inside the bowling alley next door.

Police say the man, identified as 19-year-old Jacob L. Dunstan of Metropolis, fought with officers inside the bowling alley, even after they used a Taser on him and took him into custody. Police say two different officers were kicked in the chest by Dunstan before he could be placed into a cruiser.

Police say they found items taken from the Dollar General Store in a bag Dunstan was carrying, and they also found suboxone pills.

Dunstan was taken to Massac County Detention Center and is charged with retail theft, three counts of aggravated battery and one count of possession of a controlled substance (suboxone).
