A Metropolis man has been arrested after police say he violated a quarantine order at a local nursing home.

The Metropolis Police Department says officers were called Wednesday to Southgate Nursing and Rehab after employees told them that a man had disregarded quarantine signs and entered the building.

Officers said the man, 30-year-old Jeremy Lynch, refused to leave after being told numerous times he could be infecting the patients. Officers found Lynch trying to hide behind some cars and arrested him for criminal trespassing, and on an outstanding warrant for resisting arrest.

Lynch was booked into the Massac County Detention Center.
