Icy Roads, Bitter Cold After Winter Storm

Western Kentucky woke up Sunday to icy roads, gusty winds and single-digit wind chills.

Saturday night's snow was measured at 4.8 inches in Cape Girardeau; 4 inches in Christopher, IL; 3 inches in Rosiclaire, IL; and about 2 inches across much of western Kentucky, including Benton, Princeton and Eddyville.

Cape Girardeau registered a wind gust of 53 mph Saturday night, and Barkley Field measured a gust at 46 mph.

Sunday's high will struggle to reach 25 degrees, and northerly winds will continue to gust up to 20 mph.

Monday will thaw to about 35, and Tuesday will rebound to nearly 50 degrees with rain, but could turn to a wintry mix again by Wednesday.
