Head-On Crash Kills Cairo Woman, Young Child

A crash Monday morning in Alexander County claimed the lives of a woman and a one-year-old girl.

According to Illinois State Police, 30-year-old Tamika Littleton of Cairo was traveling on Illinois Route 3 near Thebes Road. Police said Littleton entered oncoming traffic and struck a pickup driven by 64-year-old Michael Wilson of Fancy Farm. 

A passenger in Littleton's vehicle, 50-year-old Lohoma Williams, died at the scene. The one-year-old also riding in Littleton's vehicle was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Littleton and a four-year-old boy in her vehicle were airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis for treatment. Wilson was transported by ambulance to an out-of-state hospital.

Police said Williams and the young girl were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
