A woman was arrested for forgery last week at a Metropolis bank.

Metropolis Police say they were called to City National Bank last Tuesday, and were told that a teller was stalling while a woman attempted to cash a check. Police were told that 22-year-old Tori Kaitlyn Farris of Golconda was trying to cash a check for $5,000, but the bank called the account holder and learned the check was stolen.

Police arrested Farris on a forgery charge and she was taken to Metropolis Police Department. When told to empty her pockets, police say Farris removed a plastic baggie containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Another baggie with numerous pills was also seized, according to police.

Farris faces additional charges of possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance. She was taken to Massac County Detention Center.
