The National Weather Service in Paducah continues a flood watch for all of southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri through Saturday night. There is also a flood warning for the lower Ohio River and its tributaries until further notice.

Another round of showers and scattered thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast tonight, which may lead to the development of minor flooding issues.

Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are forecast on Friday through Saturday night. Flooding issues are likely to develop.

The Storm Prediction Center currently has the entire region included in a marginal to slight risk for severe thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon and evening. Potential thunderstorm impacts will include damaging winds and flooding rains, with a smaller risk for isolated tornadoes.

An eventual total of 4 to 7 inches of rainfall is likely across the watch area through Saturday night, before sunshine returns on Sunday.
