Dongola Crash Sends Five to Hospital

A single-vehicle crash in southern Illinois sent five people to the hospital on Tuesday.

According to Illinois State Police, 27-year-old Jimmy White of Mounds, IL was traveling on US Highway 51 about a mile south of Dongola. 

Police say his vehicle left the roadway and crashed head on into a creek bank. 

Passengers in the car were 29-year-old Chanel Young of Mounds and three juveniles. All occupants were transported to Union County Hospital by ambulance. The three juveniles were then taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
