Assisted Living Resident Faces Stabbing Charges

A man was arrested Tuesday night after a reported stabbing at an assisted living facility in Alexander County.

Illinois State Police say they got a call saying a man with a knife was at H&S Shelter Care in Tamms. Troopers responded and learned that the man was a resident, and that two others inside the building had been stabbed. Troopers and a Village of Tamms Police Officer went inside and were able to arrest 41-year-old Jule K. Woods without further incident.

The victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment, and Woods was taken to the Tri-County Detention Center in Ullin until his first court appearance. State Police say the investigation continues.
