UPDATE: Shooting in Murray injures one, suspect charged with attempted murder

A shooting in Murray injured one person, and a suspect is in custody charged with attempted murder..

Murray Police said the shooting occurred Monday afternoon at a Sunset Drive home on the city’s west side. Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound when they arrived on scene.

Also in the home was the suspect, 45-year-old Russell Cleaver of Murray. He was detained by police, and the woman was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of her wound.

Cleaver was arrested, charged with attempted murder and booked into the Calloway County Jail.

The Murray Ledger and Times reported that Cleaver was scheduled to appear in Calloway District Court on Tuesday.

The investigation is continuing.
