UPDATE: Both lanes of I-69 are back open this afternoon. Some cleanup work is still continuing off the shoulder of the right hand exit lane. Access is available to Exit 21.
ORIGINAL: One lane of I-69 is back open after a semi rolled over and caught fire this morning on Interstate 69 in Graves County.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the accident occurred southbound near exit 21 at Mayfield just before 7 a.m.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, a semi rolled over. I-69 was blocked as intense flames and thick smoke was coming from the truck.
Emergency crews put out the fire and one lane of traffic was restored around 8 a.m. Cleanup of the scene is expected to take until about 11 a.m.
