Murray man sentenced in methamphetamine trafficking case

A Murray man will spend five years behind bars in a methamphetamine distribution case.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said that 49-year-old Gary Sims of Murray was sentenced on Tuesday for distribution of methamphetamine and possession of meth with the intent to distribute. Court documents indicate that Sims distributed over 50 grams of meth on dates in June and August of 2021 in Calloway County. Reportedly, Sims was also caught with over 50 grams of methamphetamine in August of 2022.

Sims was sentenced to five years in prison and an additional 5 years of supervised release in the case. There is no parole in the federal system.
