On Thursday, the Murray State Board of Regents saw a presentation of plans for the first major renovations to the CFSB Center since 1998.

The biggest change for fans will be a total overhaul in the seating structure in the lower level, with the installation of one thousand premium seats.  Plans also include loge boxes along the top of the seating bowl that would create luxury private spaces for entertainment, as well as what are described as additional ledge seating and new courtside opportunities to bring basketball fans closer to the action.

Murray State also envisions the addition of a first-of-its-kind courtside bunker club for patrons to take in the game in a premium setting right on the baseline of the court.

One end of the lower bowl's retractable bleachers will be replaced with permanent seating. The student section will maintain retractable seats to accomodate non-basketball events such as university commencement, concerts and more.

Renovations will also include updated LED ribbon message boards and scoreboards, new concession areas and retail spaces.

Behind the scenes, a hydrotherapy room, rehab space, nutrition oasis and an NIL studio will be added.

No timeline was presented as to when the renovations would begin or be completed.

Racer Club and season ticket holders will receive information in the future about how their seats may be affected by the reallocation of seating.

According to MSU, the eight-figure cost of the project will be privately funded through donations.
