An apparent medical incident sent a Mayfield woman to the hospital after a crash on Monday.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a car on I-69 that was bouncing off the guardrails and running into the median. Before deputies could catch up to the vehicle, witnesses reported that it overturned and came to rest on its wheels in a ditch.

Police said the driver, 72-year-old Brenda Walker of Mayfield, suffered some type of medical emergency that caused her to lose control. Deputies said she was wearing a seatbelt and, apparently, did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

Walker was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment.
