On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Paducah Symphony Orchestra presents its second concert of the season, titled Scheherazade, at 7:30 pm at the Carson Center. The concert also features 2014 Young Artist Competition Winner Mary Grace Bender performing with the orchestra.

Bender won the competition with her performance of the 4th movement of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto in e minor.  The evening’s signature piece is Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s wildly popular Scheherazade. Known for its passion and timeless energy, Artistic Director and Conductor Raffaele Ponti describes Scheherazade as, “sexy, romantic storytelling at its best! It’s a lot of fun to play.”

The orchestra is also set to perform Kenneth Fuch's Discover the Wild, and Gioacchino Rossini's William Tell Overture.   Tickets for this concert start at just $19 and are available at www.PaducahSymphony.org, by calling 270-444-0065 or by visiting the PSO offices at 760 Broadway.
