According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies went to a home on Oaks Road and spoke to two women who were in a vehicle on the property. Deputies say they suspected one of them gave false identification, and later confirmed that she was 50-year-old Cathy Powell of Ledbetter. She was arrested on an active warrant for absonding parole supervision and for theft of identity.
Deputies say a search of the vehicle yielded methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia. This led to additional charges against Powell for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The other woman in the vehicle, 55-year-old Lesha Cunningham of Paducah, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Both women were taken to McCracken County Jail.
