A traffic stop early Wednesday morning resulted in the arrest of two people on multiple charges.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 1 am, deputies conducted a traffic stop for traffic violations on John Puryear Drive. The vehicle was occupied by 39-year-old Bruce H. Thompson, of Paducah, and 34-year-old Elizabeth A. Leach, of Wingo.

Deputies said Thompson’s license was suspended and Leach had two outstanding bench warrants out of Graves County. Leach was in possession of marijuana. Deputies found methamphetamine on Thompson, and items of drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Both were arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Thompson was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license, possessing license when privileges are revoked and rear license plate not illuminated. Leach was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also arrested on two Graves County District Court Bench Warrants for failure to appear.
