A meeting of several local leaders and citizens set for Wednesday evening to discuss race relations in McCracken County has been postponed, after one of the planned attendees was arrested on domestic violence charges.

McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer's office said the "unity" meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m. was postponed, after Richard Dillard was arrested on a warrant issued about a year ago for domestic violence assault in Paducah.

Dillard also reportedly has a second outstanding warrant out of Calloway County on failure to appear regarding a felony charge.

Dillard was booked into the McCracken County Jail on fourth-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief charges.

Other planned participants in the canceled meeting included:

Judge Executive Craig Clymer
Mayor Brandi Harless
Paducah Police Chief Brian Laird
McCracken County Sheriff Matt Carter
Paducah City Commissioner Richard Abraham
Mr. George Bray
Mr. Dujuan Thomas
Reverand J. W. Cleary
Mr. Corbin Snardon
McCracken Circuit Judge Tim Kaltenbach
