Two people were hurt, and the driver cited for DUI Monday evening following a crash on Husband Road involving a deer.
At around 10:20 p.m. Monday, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle injury collision on Husband Road.
54-year-old David Kennedy, of Metropolis was southbound on Husband Road between Clarkline Road and Krebs Station Road.
According to Kennedy, a deer crossed the road in front of him causing him to lose control of his pickup. Kennedy then ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Both Kennedy and his passenger, 41-year-old Patricia Blankenship, of Brookport were injured in the collision. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Further investigation resulted in Kennedy being charged with DUI 1st offense with aggravating circumstance and no insurance. Kennedy was not taken to jail due to being admitted to the hospital.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was also assisted at the scene by the Reidland Farley Fire Department.
