Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon just west of Paducah.

McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded about 2:40 pm to the intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and Mayfield-Metropolis Road. They spoke to those involved, and determined that 54-year-old Theresa Tucker of Ledbetter was waiting to cross the highway. She said she got distracted by a passing vehicle, and started to pull out when she believed Highway 60 was clear. When Tucker pulled into the eastbound lanes she hit a vehicle driven by 73-year-old Sue Kirkpatrick of Paducah.

Kirkpatrick's vehicle left the road and went into a ditch, while Tucker's vehicle hit another one driven by 72-year-old Curt Stevens of Paducah. Stevens and his passenger, 72-year-old Janet Stevens were waiting to cross the highway from the other direction.

Tucker and Kirkpatrick were taken to area hospitals by Mercy EMS for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries. Concord Fire Department helped at the scene.
