Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Paducah.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded about 3:50 pm to the intersection of Old Mayfield Road and Krebbs Station Road, and determined that 21-year-old Austin Hawes of Melber was northbound on Krebbs Station when he came to the stop sign. Deputies say Hawes either failed to see the stop sign, or failed to stop, and pulled into the path of 34-year-old Leanna Mills of Paducah, who was eastbound on Old Mayfield Road.

Mercy EMS took Mills and her 13-year-old passenger to a local hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries. Hawes was not hurt.

This part of Old Mayfield Road was closed for about 30 minutes while the scene was cleared.
