At 2:00 pm Tuesday, McCracken County Sheriff's deputies responded to the intersection of Benton Road and Said Road. According the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Harley Alexander of Benton hit a tractor trailer hauling grain driven by 83-year old Dan Paschall of Cottage Grove, TN.
Alexander was traveling on Benton Road and nearing the crest of a hill near the intersection with Said Road. Police said she failed to see Paschall’s truck as he was turning left onto Benton Road and hit him. The front of Alexander’s vehicle became wedged under the trailer portion of the semi. Alexander and a 6-year-old passenger were taken to a local hospital for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
