The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said a deputy saw a car, driven by 37-year-old Anthony Perrotta of Paducah, traveling at an exceptionally slow rate of speed and commit traffic violations near the 6 mile marker on I-24 East. During a traffic stop, the deputy reportedly observed, in plain view, a small baggy of what was later determined to be approximately two grams of methamphetamine, in the center console of the vehicle.
According to police, Perrotta transferred glass smoking pipes with suspected methamphetamine residue in them and a bottle of Adderall to a passenger, 29-year-old Davie Leach of Paducah, when he realized that a traffic stop was being conducted on his vehicle. Deputies reportedly found a set of concealed brass knuckles next to Perrotta’s seat.
Deputies also said Perrotta was under the influence of numerous substances, including methamphetamine and prescription medications, while driving his car. Perrotta and Leach were both arrested at the scene. After being transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail, deputy jailers reportedly found synthetic marijuana hidden on Perrotta.
Perrotta is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of wanton endangerment, possession of controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with physical evidence, possession of synthetic drugs and promoting contraband.
Leach is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription controlled substance not in the proper container.
