Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges in McCracken

A Paducah trio is facing drug and other charges after a traffic stop in McCracken County.

On Wednesday, deputies and detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office performed a traffic stop on Vasseur Avenue after noticing alleged traffic violations.

Deputies say the driver was identified as 24-year-old Anthony R. Thurston. According to detectives, it was determined that Thurston had a suspended driver's license. Additionally, there were two passengers in the vehicle which were identified as 26-year-old Candice L. Overby of Paducah, and 27-year-old James A. Mason of Paducah. 

Detectives performed a search of the vehicle and reportedly found methamphetamine and syringes. All three were arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

Thurston is charged with possession of methamphetamine first offense, failure to maintain insurance, no registration plates, and drug paraphernalia.

Overby and Mason are both charged with possession of methamphetamine first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
