A McCracken County man was cited after a routine traffic stop resulted in the seizure of marijuana, scales and a BB pistol.

Paducah Police say an officer stopped a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Brandon E. Rankin of Heath Street after he failed to signal a lane change on Irvin Cobb Drive.

When the officer approached the vehicle, he could smell marijuana. Rankin pointed out a BB gun in the pocket of the driver’s door, which closely resembled a handgun.

During a search of the car, officers found marijuana, scales and plastic bags commonly used to package marijuana for sale.

Rankin was cited for trafficking marijuana less than eight ounces, and failure to signal, and then released.
