A Paducah teen has been taken into custody by McCracken County Sheriff's detectives following a nine-month investigation into a felony case of criminal mischief to a vehicle.

A Reidland family reported on April 7, 2012, damages in excess of $7,000 to a Honda Accord parked in the family driveway. The damage includes all four tires slashed, deep scratches all over the vehicle, a puncture hole in the trunk, side mirrors busted and knocked off the vehicle, the interior upholstery slashed, and the back glass busted out. The family insurance company deemed the car totaled.

A trampoline in the backyard was slashed and destroyed as well.

Sheriff's detectives collected blood samples at the scene along with other evidence. Lab results were returned Wednesday and reportedly matched one of the suspects in the case.

Sheriff Jon Hayden says 19-year-old Jacob M. Somero of Paducah was taken into custody Thursday at noon, charged with first-degree criminal mischief. He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
