Six Paducah Tilghman High School students earned regional championship titles at the Region 1 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition at Murray State University on March 5. Over 800 students from western Kentucky competed for FBLA honors and berths at the state competition.

Regional championship titles were earned by Addie Rogers (Impromptu Speaking); Shelby Durham and Hannah Waller (Network Design); and Morgan Brewington, Morgan Brian and Hanna Fischer (Management Decision Making).

An additional eight Tilghman students captured regional runner up designations. Eileen Sember (Agribusiness); Nautica Beasley and Chloe Bilak (Graphic Design); Lance Butler (Business Math); Bailey Clark, Ashley Rich, and Brooklyn Ross (Global Business); and Maurice Cooper (Help Desk) will be among Tilghman’s seventeen competitors at the state-level competition.

Rounding out the top three finishes in their respective competition categories and also earning bids to the state finals were Cole Jordan and Jarod Smelosky (Banking and Financial Systems) and Nick Tooley (Introduction to Business Communication).

FBLA advisor Chelsea Saladino remarked, “We are very proud of our FBLA members who successfully juggle academics, athletics, arts, and clubs. The fact that they can excel at the highest level in all of their activities is a testament to their hard work and dedication to Tilghman’s excellence.”

Tilghman’s FBLA winners will compete in Louisville on April 16 through 18. The team is advised by Kari Balkey and Chelsea Saladino.
