A Paducah man was killed Sunday in a three-vehicle crash on the Beltline.

According to the Paducah Police Department, the accident happened about 10 am on Irvin Cobb Drive between Legion and Broad Streets. Their investigation determined that 50-year-old Angela S. Murt of Boaz was stopped and waiting to turn left into a parking lot when her van was hit in the rear. She saw the car swerve into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a tractor-trailer driven by 64-year-old Charles Grogan of Paducah.

Police say Grogan braked to avoid a collision but his trailer jack-knifed, and the car slid under the trailer. The driver of the car, 52-year-old Mark A. Harper, was taken to Baptist Health Paducah, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident is being investigated by the Paducah Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Team.
