Three men with ties to the Keeton Corrections Facility have been charged in Federal Court.

After a months-long investigation into alleged drug trafficking, a Federal Grand Jury in Paducah has charged 32-year-old DeAnthony Woods of Paducah, 31-year-old Ralph Gaines, Jr., of Paducah, and 27-year-old David Jones of Madisonville with possession with intent to distribute, distribution of methamphetamine, and other charges.

Gaines is additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute, use/carry of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Gaines had previously been convicted in 2008 and 2016 for trafficking cocaine.

According to the indictment, Woods, Jones, and Gaines were distributing 50 grams or more of a substance with a detectable amount of methamphetamine.

If convicted, the trio could face between 5 and 40 years in prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Additionally, Gaines could get up to 20 years for possession with intent to distribute, and at least 5 years for use of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and no more than 10 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

All three men will also face additional charges in McCracken County for trafficking in a controlled substance, and are scheduled to appear in McCracken Circuit Court on September 30th at 9 am.

Paducah Police arrested these men and others in May after the investigation into trafficking at the halfway house. Police believe Woods brought, kept and sold drugs in the facility while still serving a sentence there. He allegedly used other inmates to deliver the drugs, and police say Gaines was the source of the drugs from outside the facility.
