Three Arrested on Drug Charges Near School

Three men were arrested Monday on drug related charges near a school.According to police, At around 5:00 p.m. Monday, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department were investigating several tips they had received regarding drug offenses in the Forest Hills area of Paducah, KY. While investigating the tips, detectives observed suspicious activity between two vehicles.
 
Detectives stopped the two vehicles and during the investigation learned that one of the occupants, Deante Brown, had just sold approximately two ounces of marijuana to the driver of the other vehicle, Chance Sidener. More marijuana was located in both vehicles as well as on an additional passenger, Reco Cunningham. Money, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, was also seized during the investigation.
 
Also during the incident, 18-year-old Andrea Orozco, of Paducah became belligerent and caused alarm in public. She was arrested by the Paducah Police Department for Disorderly Conduct.
 
Three other people, including a fifteen year old juvenile female were involved in the incident. The juvenile was released to her mother. The investigation is continuing and more charges are expected at a later date. The drug transaction took place in close proximity to St. Mary’s School.
 
Deante Brown (20 years old, of Paducah, KY) was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance Within 1,000 Feet of a School (A Class “D” felony, punishable by 1- 5 years). Reco Cunningham (19 years old, of Paducah, KY) was also with Trafficking Controlled Substance Within 1,000 Feet of a School. Richard Chance Sidener was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
