A McCracken County teen is facing DUI and possibly additional charges, after police say he and another teen caused several thousand dollars in damage to the McCracken County High School grounds.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, at 5:10 am Sunday deputies received a call of a truck in a ditch at the entrance to the school. Deputies arrived to find two teens in the truck, and discovered they had been drinking. Police said that prior to getting stuck, the teens drove through a lawn, and the soccer and football practice fields. It was also discovered that two stop signs had been damaged. Police reportedly found one of the signs in the bed of the pickup truck.

Police said school officials estimate repairs to the damage will cost several thousand dollars. The investigation continues, and police say additional charges will be filed once the cost of the repairs have been determined and turned over to the Sheriff’s Office.
