Symsonia Man Injured In I-24 Crash

A Symsonia man was injured in an accident on Interstate 24 Tuesday afternoon.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, at around 6 P.M. deputies responded to Exit 11 of I-24 for a two-vehicle accident. After deputies arrived, their investigation determined that 17-year-old Samantha Ruley of Paducah was exiting off I-24 at Exit 11 to go south on Husbands Road. When she turned onto Husbands Road, she failed to notice a motorcycle, driven by 49-year-old Bruce Awberry of Symsonia, attempting to make a left turn onto I-24.

Ruley failed to yield the right of way when she crossed traffic and struck Awberry's motorcycle.

Awberry was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
