Another student at Paducah Middle School has been removed from class following a verbal threat.

According to Paducah Public Schools, the threat was made to another classmate, and was reported to administrators.

The student was removed from the classroom and a school resource officer's investigation led them to contact Paducah Police.

An officer came to the school but no police action was taken and no charges have been filed. An investigation revealed that staff and students were safe.

The school district says their policy states that, "any pupil who threatens, assaults, batters or abuses another pupil shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion."

Two previous threats have also been investigated at the school this month - on February 10 and 14.

Editor's Note: The story has been corrected to reflect more information gathered from law enforcement and the school system. The school system notified parents that city police had responded, but police initially told West Kentucky Star they were not at the scene. We apologize for any confusion.
