This year's Paducah Lower Town Arts & Music Festival kicks off Thursday night with a street party.

The kickoff party begins at 4 p.m. in front of the historic Columbia Theater on Broadway. There will be live music and great food, all benefiting the Columbia restoration and the Yeiser Art Center.

The party includes music by several local bands, with food supplied by CARTEL. Beer will be on tap provided by Dry Ground and Paducah Beer Werks.

The Festival runs Friday from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Dozens of bands will perform on two stages, and the work of many local artists will be featured for sale. Several area restaurants will be set up selling various food and drinks.

The festival is free, but donations are welcome to help with the restoration of the Columbia Theater. You can get much more information about the event, or learn about volunteering at the link below.
