St. Mary Juniors, Emma Kerr and Madeline Kerr, were selected for the Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP). GSP is a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky. The Program, which is now in its 36th year, was created in an effort to keep the state’s top students in the Commonwealth after high school. GSP is highly selective and offers students the opportunity to spend the summer at one of three Kentucky college/university campuses focusing on in-depth courses, civic leadership, and unique learning opportunities.
The Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) has selected William Seay as a participant in this year’s program. Every summer for the past 31 years, GSA and the faculty of professional artist/educators have guided Kentucky’s finest young artists through three weeks of incredibly intense arts instruction. This year over 1,400 students applied to be a part of GSA, 629 were invited to audition, and only 256 were selected.
