A power outage across a portion of Paducah Monday morning left more than 800 electric customers in the dark for about 30 minutes.

Paducah Power Spokesperson, Andrea Underwood, tells West Kentucky Star that crews suspect a squirrel got into a substation and triggered the outage.

There were several reports of people trapped in at least one elevator for a short time while crews worked to restore the power.  The outage took place Monday morning just after 7:20 am, and was restored at around 7:50 am.

According to the outage map on Paducah Power's website, power has been restored.
