An advisory board meant to make decisions at the McCracken County Animal Shelter is in need of one additional member.

The Paducah City Commission added two members to the board Tuesday evening, which will eventually comprise six members. Lorraine Schramke and Lee King will represent the city on the board, while Steve Swinford and Dr. Tim Davis will represent the county.

Veterinarian Harold Clark has filled one of the two appointments to be confirmed by the city and the county. Deputy Judge- Executive Doug Harnice told the Paducah Sun the last open spot will most likely be taken by a lawyer.

Harnice said the shelter, which was opened as an emergency facility when the county ended its agreement with the McCracken County Humane Society, recently finished construction of a cat habitat.

The shelter also has a bid out for fencing that will surround the entire shelter grounds.
