On Thursday, Paducah Power wrapped up their School Challenge for the Christmas in the Park food drive.

Students at sixteen schools worked together to collect 36,305 pounds of canned goods and nonperishable food items. This year's effort is the second-highest total ever for the School Challenge.

Paducah Power thanks all of those who donated, and will share the proceeds with area helping agencies: Family Service Society, Paducah Cooperative Ministry, the Salvation Army, and St. Vincent DePaul.

Congratulations to the winning schools:

Large School Champion - Concord Elementary
Large School Runner-up - Lone Oak Elementary

Small School Champion - Community Christian Academy
Small School Runner-up - Heath Elementary

Spirit Award - Paducah Tilghman High School

Collection of food and cash continues nightly at Noble Park during the Christmas in the Park lights display.
