Two people were injured and the driver cited following a single-vehicle crash in McCracken County Sunday night.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened at approximately 11:15 pm in the 6600 block of Kentucky Dam Road.

Deputies said the vehicle of 29-year-old Aaron Laffoon, of Calvert City hydroplaned, and crossed over the oncoming lane. The vehicle struck a tree and rolled over.  After crossing several yards, the vehicle came to rest right side up.

A passenger, 30-year-old Robyn Green-Laffoon, also of Calvert City, had to be removed from the vehicle by mechanical means. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Deputies said weather and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.

Aaron Laffoon was issued a citation for failure to maintain required insurance.  Police say additional charges are pending.
